OH LOOK, IT STILL ISN'T A PHASE MOM

Fashion has always been a big part of my life, despite this - I have had MANY disastrous outfits over the years. But what I have learned from this is that I was just finding my style. In this post, I want to divulge the things that I have learned from running this lil' blog for the past 4 years.

To start off with, fashion blogging has done wonders for my confidence. I was always the shy kid who had no idea what style she "fit" in with (was I scene? emo? hippy? all of the above?!) but I always found that I was always too nervous to fully express my style. Why wasn't I into the same things as everyone else? Well, I didn't need to fit in with anyone but me. Since fashion blogging, I have been able to connect and become friends with people who are all about expressing yourself and it made me realise that it is okay to wear what you want and it is okay to not follow the crowd.

My confidence has come on leaps and bounds from facing my fear of shooting in public too. I have a fab boyfriend/photographer who helps reassures me to realise that "yes, people may be looking... but who cares?" And that has really stuck with me, so what that people may be looking? At the end of the day, I am doing something I love and I shouldn't get knocked down by strangers who I'll likely never see again. While on this shoot, I actually had a girl in a taxi shout "Yaaaaas gurl, you're slaying it" which kinda made me cringe in one way but it did give me a massive confidence boast which stayed with me for the rest of the day. It is amazing how a compliment from a stranger can really go a long way.

Finally, fashion blogging has made me feel more body positive. Why? Because, I have a lot of scars on my legs and for a VERY long time I was ashamed of them. People would look if I was wearing shorts or a dress and it would make me revert back to living in jeans. I still have a long way to go with this though - I do get self conscious from time to time but similar to the last point - Who cares what they think? Let them stare.

That shouldn't stop me from expressing myself in the way that I want.
